Dear Students,
...
The First Phase is about providing you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the world of augmented reality (AR). Don't worry if the concept is new to you, we will be guiding you through various forms of AR experiences, and allowing you to experiment with these concepts on our mobile application.
The Second Phase is about learning while using augmented reality. We have laid out a series of lessons to support the more traditional learning you will receive from your instructor.

Also, we are adamantly keeping the concept of collaboration and co-creation at the very heart of our philosophy of making. This is why we consider ourselves fortunate to have the privilege of working with brilliant students such as yourself. We want to work together as we make sense of these new technologies and imagine a better and brighter future for all. We also want to remind ourselves how privileged we are during these trying times to have the opportunity to work, research, learn, teach, study, and engage with one another under the safety of the educational platform that Columbia University is providing us. Let us also be reminded of the systemic challenges that continue to make it impossible for many people in our country, especially those in our under-served communities, to live safely. Let us also remind ourselves that we, too, may be complicit in, and benefit from, sustaining these very systemic challenges that prevent so many others from pursuing higher education, or accessing affordable healthcare, without fearing for their lives.
As we build and continue to shape this technology together, we welcome you to share your thoughts and ideas about how we could be more inclusive about the way we think, and create. So, please do not hesitate to use the feedback button on our application to share comments and ideas with us.
